- These are part of the “Paula McCoy” Watercolor Decal Collection
- These decals can be used on glass and ceramic.
- I originally painted this Peacock design with acrylics on a 12×12″ canvas.
- Available in 1-6″, 2-4″ and 3-2″ (6 to a page with these sizes)
Our full-color water-slide overglaze decals are glossy, lead-free, food-safe, UV-resistant, and scratch-resistant when applied onto glazed and fired ceramic ware or fusible glass.
Materials Needed:
- Paula McCoy/CeramiPics decal sheet
- Rubbing alcohol or White Distilled Vinegar for fused glass
- Plastic rib tool
- Squeegee, or roller-glazed ceramic piece Lint-free cloth Kiln
- Scissors
- Bowl of warm water
- Using a lint-free cloth, wipe the area of the piece where you are applying decals with rubbing alcohol to remove oils from your skin and dust from the surface.
- Trim as close to the image as possible because the durable flux top coat may leave a slight line where you cut out the decal.
- Place the decal in a bowl of warm water for about 30 seconds, or until you can gently slide the decal from its paper backing.
- Carefully slide the decal from the paper backing onto your ceramic piece. Be sure to leave the decal face up.
- Hold your decal in place. Use a squeegee, rib, or roller to gently press from the center of the decal outward to remove any water and air bubbles. Repeat as needed to ensure all water has been extracted.
- Next, blot your decal with a new lint-free cloth, again working from the center outward. Allow the decal to dry overnight or until no moisture remains (about 6 hours).
- If you have a programmable electric kiln, fire your decal piece using this firing schedule:
